SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
...
the Bouvier family of the 90's

In a message dated 97-10-09 17:03:09 EDT, you write:

A little while ago,  a clever Bouv person presented a formula that could be used to calculate the amount of debris that can be carried into the house in  an average Bouvier coat.

>I now need to know the BSA (Bed Surface Area) required for my newly expanded family. The current double bed may not accomodate it's future occupants.  Need space for:

1 short (5 ft) plump, restless insomniac female
1 20# (48inch long) long haired cat (that sprawls)
1 5 yr old male Bouv (79#)
1 female Bouv puppy (of yet undetermined size)

Not necessary to factor in any space for additional human body (unfortunately). If that unlikely event should transpire, I would be willing to pay for a hotel room(or a suite at the Ritz, for that matter).  You may remember that BJ peed on the leg of my last suitor.

So, if any of you have experience with  a bed full of animals, the question is,"How big does that bed have to be?"

I can take credit for the formula to calculate the amount of dirt/sand a bouv can track in.

I have reviewed your factors for needed bed space;

The cat (K )needs 48 inches
the 79 lb, five year old male bouv (MB) also needs 48 inches
the  female bouv (FB) will neeed anaddtional mimimum of 46 inches and, in theory,
the average biped humaniod (H) needs a mere 36inches

therefore if K=48 and MB=48 and FB=48 and H=36, I suggest the need to be at least two kingsize beds joined.  Or perhaps one could simply wall to wall a ten by ten space with mattresses to give everyone a basic sleeping area plus rollover room.......

Personally our  sleeping situation is 2H +1FB = way too crowded in a king size bed and seven other bouvs wishing and hoping to join in.  And in the past the sleeping formula was 2H + 1K and we (2H) often slept hanging over the sides....

Sorry you say not to include sapce for second biped.

White sales aren't until January so hang in there.  And have you thought of a padded surface to fall on when pushed out onto the floor?
