FROM THE PRESIDENT
In order to improve communications between the Membership and the Board the President will
attempt to clarify some of the actions and current activities of the Board. The President
will also be tasked with responding to some of the inquiries made to the Board by
individual members.
The Dirty Beards seems to be a major issue with a vast majority of the membership. The
Board has signed a contract with a publishing firm that publishes documents for other
breed clubs. The Board is still searching for someone to step up and assume the
responsibility of managing editor of the Dirty Beards. Several members have expressed
interest as contributing editors but not managing editor. In the interim Linda Hoyer has
agreed to manage the next issue of the Dirty Beards.
The by-laws have been under review by the Membership Bylaws Committee and the initial
review indicates a definite conflict with what the ABdFC documentation indicates and the
documentation in the AKC files. There will have to be a process established so that a
final by-laws document will be accepted by the entire membership and AKC.
Legal action in the form of exchanging documents between the legal representative of two
club members and the legal representative of the ABdFC has taken place over the past few
months. The two club members were seeking access to club files pertaining to an activity
of a committee and it was felt by the Board that some of the documents they were seeking
were of such nature as to be considered confidential. Because the ABdFC was incorporated
in the State of Pennsylvania the discussion thus far is based on what is or what is not
considered confidential information in a club such as ours.
If anyone has a concern or an issue please contact a Board member before you enter into
the world of untruths and misinformation on the NET.
Thank you
Stuart L. Riley
President, ABdFC
