Gschwender left the meeting.) (Linda Hoyer now joined the meeting.) In discussion the board agreed that the Bylaws Committee which is to work on updating the wording of the reconciled Bylaws would consist of Tim Heisel, Debbie Gschwender, and a third non-board member to be decided upon. The Chairman will contact some members who have volunteered to serve the club as to their willingness to serve on the Bylaws Committee. Tim Heisel was questioned about the progress of his report on the correct Bylaws which the board had moved to request at the October 1997 organizational meeting. He reported that he was unsuccessful in compiling this report due to missing records. Standard. (Judy Abramsohn at this point joined the meeting.) The chairman inquired if the board had read the committee's report. Board members commented that because of they had received the report so close to the meeting date that they had not had time to study it. It was stated that the board had a rule that if reports were not in the meeting packet sent by the Secretary, the board would not consider them. Karen Brown clarified that that rule was applied only if all board members had not received any reports sent directly to the individual members by the committee chair. Judy Abramsohn spoke regarding the work of the Standard Committee and the suggested changes in the standard detailed in the report. She also discussed the approval process for amendments to the standard and getting feedback from the membership. There was considerable discussion of coat color. Motion to table further discussion of the committee's report until the next board meeting, John Reilly/Tim Heisel. Motion carried. The Chairman thanked Judy Abramsohn for the committee's work. (At this point Judy Abramsohn left the meeting.) Vice President. No report. Secretary's Report. In the months of December, 1997 and January, 1998 the Secretary sent out 56 copies of the breeder list and 34 copies of the Beginners Guide to the Bouvier. Received:
