| As a breeder, I feel that I have to respond to this topic. The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) prohibits breeders from selling puppies to pet wholesalers or retail outlets (pet stores). If I was to do such a thing, I could lose my kennel registration and be removed from membership in the CKC. As a result of this policy, the dogs that are available in pet stores in Canada are those from irresponsible breeders (purebred and mixed breed) or imported from the US, usually puppy mills. [...] |
