Well, Obie went to the specialist & after two days of testing, Including
having her esophagus scoped. Her test for Addison's disease came back positive. We are
still waiting to see if its the adrenal or pituitary type of Addisons. The
specialist seems to feel that the Addison's Disease has aggravated her esophagus &
caused mega esophagus.
Obie has started on a treatment of Predizone. 05 mg 2x a day &
in 2 weeks we will see if there is any improvement in her swallowing. (I hold out
hope in this because in Dec. She was on predizone to reduce inflammation & it did seem
to help).
Meanwhile I continue to tube feed her. She is Still gaining weight & still
accepting the tube feeding well . She is Very Bright active & alert & yesterday
she drank water on her own with out the gagging & choking .
We have been working on obedience & she is catching on fast.
Now for the other Problem, Obie's vet bills total in excess of $1600.00, a lot for
one dog not that I don't think she's worth it, but I would hate not to be able to
afford to help another Bouv in need. If anyone on the list could & would be able
