Eye Disease
| I was always under the impression that a
CERFed Bouvier was a Bouvier cleared of glaucoma. Not so. It could be true but not
necessarily true. I called CERF & my conversation log includes the following which I quote from that log: 2/9/01 3:30pm CERF No certificate is issued if dog (Bouvier) has: Cataracts phpv phtvl If a dog has glaucoma it will not be certified however "Diagnosis & classification of glaucoma requires measurements of the IOP & xamination of the IRIDOCORNEAL angle. Neither of these tests is part of a routine screening exam for certification." So the bottom line is a Bouvier can be CERF certified w/o an examination for Glaucoma or Goniodysgensis. I was flabbergasted to learn this & I am grateful to Molly's guardian for making me see the light of day. I hope some of the following information does the same for you & helps a Bouvier.
