HOT DE-MATTING TIPS

A recent adopter shared a great grooming secret for mats, she told me about cholesterol--yep his is GOOD cholesterol. It is a nicely scented cream that looks pretty much like mayonnaise!

I bought some when she told me about it, but forgot it till she suggested I use it for our new foster Dixie's skin problem, and remembered what she said the original use she told me about was for mats, so I gave it a try on a particularly troublesome mat on Max, it
worked like a charm!

I rubbed it though my fingers, and it parted easily! What she told me was it was basically lanolin. The neat part you buy it at the dollar store (I had previously been using "The Answer" by EZ Groom, around $40 for a 16oz. bottle), it's a nice big jar, it says on the label, conditions, strengthens, & rejuvenates hair!

Barbara, who gave me this great tip is also fostering a Bouv girl that was in bad condition. She sent me some recent pictures, and I commented on how beautiful & shiny & black the girl's coat was, and she said she uses actual mayonnaise as a conditioner, it all come out when it is washed away! These are both really good tips! Haven't tried the mayo yet!
