 "Ace"
now adopted

Ace's background:  Ace was brought into the vet's office by his owner who requested he be put down because he had become hard of hearing & had a limp. The vet tech was very familiar with this dog & thought it was a crime to put down such a fine Bouvier. She intervened & with the owners permission got him to us.

He really is a wonderful soul. Very people oriented. Fellow Befriender's member Liz has been fostering him for about a month. He is staying the weekend with my sister while Liz is out of town, & I can tell you he follows her everywhere & gets along very well with her 9 year old rescue girl (also Bouvier).

We have had him to our vet who has given him a clean bill of health. I don't  think he is totally deaf  but he is very astute & by clapping your hands or patting your thigh he perks his head right in your direction & comes, The limp is probably due to some arthritic changes.

He is crate trained & housebroken. Although due to all the stress in his life & home changes he may have an initial accident, but both Liz & my sister (and I) have found him to be very loving.

Updates

07.04.01: Ace was adopted on July 4th, by a couple who had a previous Bouvier rescue. The couple own a landscape business in the metro Detroit area. Ace is able to accompany his new owners to work the majority of the time. They also own a small horse farm, which is their weekend get a way. Ace loves nuzzling the muzzles of the horses, and the barn cats. This new home loves him for the wonderful companion he is. Interestingly, he does seem to be almost  completely deaf, I say "almost," because it seems he can hear the rustle of  the potato chip bag!
