Bouvier Adoption - Please Help Me

Mickey's background: We have a Bouv at the shelter I work at in Chattanooga, TN. He was turned in by owner because their landord won't let them keep him. He is super sweet, weighs about 50 pounds, is black as coal and all natural. He was born Jan 26, 2001 which makes him 7 months and 3 weeks old. I brought him home to spend the night to see how he was and he is a doll!

He ignored my cat, likes dogs, LOVES kids, he plays fetch. He'll walk on a leash but he'll trip you if you don't pay attention and he is a peeping Tom *lol* he would get up in my chair on the patio and peek at me through the window. All I could see was a black face and pink tongue.

The people that had him got him from someone that told them he was a cocker spaniel mix! He likes to ride in a car, oh get this, when I brought him home I gave him a bowl of water; he drank his fill then took his paw and flip the bowl over and lay in the water and then looked at me like he was so proud of himself.

If anyone is interested please come get him and give this sweetie pie a home. He'll make someone a great pet. He is in no danger at all of being euthanized because, of course, he has me :-)

He is up to date on all his shots but he does need a rabies shot and has to be neutered. His neutering & rabies shot are included in the adoption fee.

Updates

08.23.01 Very good news, I took Mickey to the vet this morning for his neuter. This Saturday he will be going to Nashville, to his new home with Sher Powers. She is friends with Nannette Clark who does Husky rescue. I will be meeting her this Saturday with Mickey. I'm driving half way to Nashville approx 1 hour to meet her. She seems really nice, I'm sure she'll be happy with him.

08.24.01 - We have had a kink in the plans. I went to the vet this morning to pick him up and they told me he couldn't go because overnight he chewed his stitches out. So they re-stitched him today and collared him. I have to call him in the morning to be sure everything is ok and I plan to pick him up and drive to our meeting place. I will have my camera as well so I can take a picture of him with his new mom. Denise.

08.25.01 - I picked Mickey up from the vet this morning, he now has a collar on so he cant get to his stitches. Sher has decided to come into Chattanooga herself to pick him up [...] She said she will be picking Mickey up between 2 & 3 o'clock today. Denise

08.26.01 - Sher Powers is the new owner of Mickey, she decided to come to the shelter instead of us meeting [...] I was not there for her to pick him up but she
called me after she got home. She said he is great, when she walked into the shelter all the dogs were barking and showing off except Mickey, he was sitting there as if he were waiting. Two staff members called me at home and said she was thilled and raved about him, and said she was very excited and happy about this boy.

When she called she said he was wonderful but he did have a few problems to work on, chewing on the privacy fence and scratching on the windows. I'm sure they will work it out. Over all Sher seemed very happy with Mickey and is looking forward to a life with him. Everyone at the shelter was very happy to see this guy go home with his new Mom. Denise

09.04.01 - The Bouv Mix "Mickey" that Jan put on his site is happy in his new home and the new owner seems to be very pleased and happy with him :)
