I was living in a small apartment @ 217 E 83rd St. in Manhattan. It was a five room, five floor walkup, rent controlled @ $68.50 a month. This was great 'cause that's about what I was earning. The building was inhabited by hippies and senior citizens. I was recently married & we had just gotten our first Bouvier puppy. Carol & I were sitting on the front stoop trying to name this bundle of fur that we had picked up a couple of days earlier from a backyard breeder in a ritzy part of New Jersey. I kept looking @ him and suddenly it came to me. Bogart! I cried out to my startled bride & we both smiled because that was it.
